Off Leash

Looking for more control when your dog is off leash? Does your dog forget their name as soon as they have a little freedom? We can help you get better off leash reliability.

PRIVATE TRAINING LESSONS & LEVELS

PROTOSTAR: “A protostar is a young, baby star. This is still gaining mass and will become a main sequence…” This program is our baseline program! Our Protostar program solves some of the more basic issues you may have, like jumping up on guests, running out the door, or pulling on the lead. We cover some important commands – sit/stay, come, loose leash walk. Or perhaps right now, you are a new puppy owner looking for a bit more guidance on how to prevent future issues with their new dog, like house training, chewing, jumping on people/furniture, biting/mouthing, and start basic obedience commands. POLARIS: “Polaris is the brightest start in Ursa Minor, also called the North Star.” The Polaris program is great for those looking for a bit more than just the basics. Do you want better control of your dog, both in the home and when out in public? Does your dog drag you down the road when you see people or other dogs? Does your dog run away faster when you call them to you? What about grabbing things on the ground, or stealing food off your tables or counters? This program includes all obedience commands and solves a lot of behavior issues you may be dealing with. PRICE $1295
SIRIUS: “Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky. This is also known as the DOG STAR!” This program is ideal for those wanting to do it all with their dog. We cover unlimited obedience commands in depth with bigger distractions. This is the best program for those looking for off leash reliability. Also included is all recommended training equipment, lifetime phone support and unlimited Levels. PRICE $2195
LEVELS: This is our group class program. Levels is an all encompassing program that includes Basic to Advanced obedience and gets you set up for all three of the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluations. PRICE $550

General Queries!

Is a dog ever too old to train?

Nope! Dogs never stop learning! Which is why you should never stop training! Old dogs CAN learn new tricks! While old dogs may take longer to learn and build new habits, they can absolutely benefit from training.

How do we start?

Give us a call/text (561-373-3882) or send an email (StarDogObedience@gmail.com) to request a phone consult or in person Evaluation. Evaluations are currently free at our facility. Evaluations are required before starting most programs.

Does my dog think he is alpha, and that is why he misbehaves?

Contrary to popular belief, dominance theory does not pertain to the dog-human relationship. Dominance is a relationship between beings of the same species. The reason your dog is acting out is he/she just has not been properly trained to not do so or there is a misunderstanding as to what behaviors are allowed to happen! This is where we come in! During our Evaluation, we will help to figure out where the miscommunication is happening between dog and owner.

Will training ruin their spirit?

Absolutely not! We make training fun and enjoyable! We use various motivators (treats, toys, praise) that your dog already loves and use those to our advantage to get the dog to want to do what we are asking of them! You will still have your fun, happy dog after training – only with better control and obedience. Often, training will enhance their confidence and happiness!
